Annual community celebration of Spring the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Plumb Alley comes alive with a variety of arts, crafts, food, book sales, and much more! Entertainment abounds with live performances from bagpipes to rock’n’roll. Children will find fun activities, such as face painting, sidewalk chalk competitions, and more! The Festival is a major fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Abingdon. All proceeds go to support charities and charitable organizations in our region. Come and visit with world renowned guitarist and luthier, Wayne C. Henderson. Support your favorite picker in the Guitar Competition and spend the day listening to Wayne and his guests playing great foot tapping music. The guitar competition starts at 10:30 a.m. and the concert at noon. Also features games for children, terrific barbeque, alternative food choices and T-shirts, hats and other memorabilia of the day. This festival is enjoyed in the unsurpassed natural beauty of Grayson Highlands State Park in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Come for the day and stay for the week.

Grayson County Fiddler’s Convention -

Start the summer fiddler’s convention season with the Grayson County Old Time and Bluegrass Fiddler’s Convention held the last weekend in June. Cash prizes and rosettes in the categories of Guitar, Mandolin, Old Time Fiddle, Bass Fiddle, Bluegrass Banjo, Flat foot dance (children and adult), Old Time Bands and Bluegrass Bands. Camping on the grounds for $10.00. Food and refreshments available. Bring your lawn chair or blankets and the whole family for two nights of great music and dancing in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
