Laurel Creek Kayak Club

The purpose of the club, which can be modifed once a membership is established, will be to provide easier access to White Top Laurel, Tennessee Laurel, Holston River South Fork, and other whitewater opportunities near Damascus, Virginia. Other purposes may include providing training to persons interested in learning kayaking, finding fellow paddlers for trips, clean-up days on the Laurel, equipment location, and social events. A shelter or gazebo for club members will be built on the Laurel about a mile below Damascus, on private property, and access will be limited to club members. The area is excellent for training, with deep pools and moderate rapids.
